Sometimes a great idea inspires such an awesome vision that the boring and practical details get overlooked. It’s tempting to impulsively plow ahead.
The way you get burned is if someone else has the same great idea and suddenly appears in your market. You can’t control that. But if you focused on the details beforehand, you probably noticed a bunch of things you can control. The details are where things you can control are usually found. How you handle the details helps distinguish your version of the great idea and creates advantages. That is if you didn’t overlook the details in the first place.
